How I Get It All Done: The People, Platforms & Products I Rely On
It truly takes a village for me to run my business. These are all the people and tools that help me keep things going.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing how AI helps me run my business—and it’s true, it’s been a game-changer for doing more in less time. But let’s be real: even as a solo founder, Anchor Change doesn’t run on AI alone. It takes a village.
From the people who help me stay grounded and organized to the tools that keep everything humming in the background, I wanted to pull back the curtain and share the full list of what—and who—I rely on to make it all work.
If you have questions about how I use any of these, drop them in the comments. And I’d love to hear about the tools and people you can’t live without, too!
🧑🤝🧑 People First: The Real MVPs
Admin – I work with Lisa Eberhart, who helps me book travel, water plants, pick up packages, take things to Goodwill, stock up for events, and wait for repair people when needed. Total lifesaver.
Intern – Marcus helps assemble my "What I’m Reading" newsletter links, create social media carousels, and refine my overall social strategy.
Contractors & Freelancers
Branding: Worked with Becky Luna on astrobranding and used this $27 ChatGPT prompt for visibility and growth strategy. Branding is important, but also don’t overthink it.
Logo: Designed by Chris Cava Preston.
Headshots: Kate Andreya (DC-based, storytelling for women). Wish I'd done some video b-roll too!
Wikipedia: While this isn’t something I needed right away, as I did more high-profile press appearances, I wanted the benefits that came with having a Wikipedia profile. This includes a different format when someone searches your name on Google. One can’t just create a profile for themselves, though. There are strict rules, and so I went through Beutler Ink. William Beutler has been a Wikipedia editor for decades and knows how to do it right.
Podcast:
Claude Jennings – Editor
Theo Balcomb – Producer
Writing & Coaching: There are coaches for EVERYTHING out there. Use your best judgment, but I found some amazing people via Instagram and Substack that cost a reasonable amount and have helped me a ton. And, sometimes all you need is a session or two.
Chelsea Pippin (Writing coach. Tarot for creativity author.)
Sarah Fay (Substack coach. A year or two ago I wanted help upleveling my Substack. I didn’t need a full-on marketing coach - plus they were $10k+. Sarah was perfect. We’ve done three or four sessions since then and her Substack is full of great tips.)
Inkling Comms (Writing coach. Did one session and was helpful to get me back in the swing of writing.)
Morgan Felchner (Great for writing, editing and content strategy. Morgan is helping me with my book.)
Jonathan Rick (Did a five course session with him when I was getting ready to start the newsletter and needed to build up my writing confidence.)
Legal & Financial
Joe Cope at Cope Corrales (financial advisor). Joe was key to helping me know I had the money to take the plunge, going on my own, and has helped me diversify my portfolio. Provided significant assistance in establishing the correct financials for the business.
Legal Zoom for LLC and trademark (Panic Responsibly!)
Barbara Giuffre for employment legal advice
Venable for contract samples (though to be honest, I didn’t need my own.)
Jim Peppe to update my will
Other Support
Studio Miel – Interior design that helped me with my office so it looked good on-camera
TaskRabbit – I often use Clonel in DC for bartending at events, errands, or setup/tear-down
UpWork – Helpful for short-term research, design, or admin (though I now use AI for most of this)
⚙️ Digital Backbone: What Keeps My Business Running
Google Workspace – Email, docs, calendar, domains
Superhuman – Premium email client for managing multiple accounts with ease (DM me for a free trial)
Calendly – Effortless meeting scheduling
Substack – You’re reading it! My favorite place to publish and connect
Shopify + Printful – Powers the Panic Responsibly merch shop
Sticker Mule - For all my sticker needs
Stripe - How I process payments from Substack
Squarespace → ShowIt – Started with Squarespace for my website, now use ShowIt templates (based on designer’s recs). Either works great.
