Renewing Civic Health
Connect with civic leaders, gain insights, and explore strategies to strengthen our democracy.
Since I am on a cruise ship this week and my brain has stopped functioning as my election adrenaline high comes down, this is going to be a shorter-than-normal post.
However, I do want to plug a conference the organization I’m board chair of - the National Conference on Citizenship (NCOC) - is holding on December 10 in Washington, DC on the subject of Renewing Civic Health.
Years ago, Garrett Graff told me about NCOC, a congressionally chartered organization created after World War II to encourage civic participation.
The organization does a ton of amazing work from our civic health index to tracking what’s being said on social media with Junkipedia to stuff with the census and so much more.
I’m particularly excited about the fireside chat I get to have with NPR’s Katherine Maher and C-SPAN’s Sam Feist about the role that civic media will have going forward.
Consider joining us at Planet Word on December 10, 2024, for the National Conference on Citizenship, where we’ll explore the theme “Renewing Civic Health.”
Together, we’ll explore strategies to strengthen civic life, bridge divides, and harness technology for good. Don’t miss this chance to join us in renewing civic health. Book your hotel at the Eaton DC and join us Dec. 10th!
Back to my drink with the little umbrella in it.
