What I’m Reading - 3/9/25
I just finished reading my entire book for the first time, and if I’m honest, I’m not sure what to make of it yet. When I first planned to do the read-through this weekend, I didn’t anticipate the news that a former colleague would drop a surprise memoir on Tuesday. That means a few folks have reached out to ask what I experienced at the company.
I haven’t read the book yet. I probably won’t be able to by the time Wednesday’s newsletter comes around, but I will use that to share some thoughts as more comes out. I will say that in reading my book and anticipating Sarah’s, I’m struck by the following:
📖 No two people walk away from the same experience with the same story.
🔍 We all have a right to tell our stories, but no one account is ever the whole picture.
💡 Leadership legacies are complicated, and history will judge them differently.
I’ll share more thoughts once I’ve read the book. If you’re interested, I also did this Instagram reel.
As stories emerge about what Sarah writes in the book, I will say how we tell our stories matters. Just as important is how we process what others share. Perspectives will differ, but it’s in those differences that we find a fuller picture.
Have a great Sunday!

Yesterday, Amy Webb released her 1000 (!) page 2025 Tech Trends Report at SXSW. Covering 15 industries, it’s a comprehensive look at how various technologies impact our lives. I’m still digging into it, but the message that “the decisions we make in the next five years will determine the long-term fate of human civilization” is sobering.
On a lighter note, for my fellow West Wing fans out there,
