I really enjoyed Ms. Maher's appearance before Congress last week. It takes a certain kind of perverse courage to go before the entire country and lie about every single political value and belief that you have, especially when everyone knows you're lying! That kind of sophisticated dissembling certainly isn't admirable, but I can see why Maher has climbed so high in the elite circles she occupies.
