AHHHHHH - as I was putting together today’s calendar newsletter, I heard the best news. Taylor Swift added more tour dates in the US!!!! She’s coming to Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Toronto in 2024. Tickets go on sale on August 11 (at least for the Indy dates).
But you’re not here for my Taylor Swift obsession. 🤣
Some more updates on the newsletter front before we get to the calendar. This is the second week of my new posting schedule where Wednesdays are more in-depth analysis, Thursdays are a look at key dates you should be paying attention to, and Sundays are for links to What I’m Reading.
I’ve also removed the paywall from my archives. I’ve struggled with what to put behind the paywall and what not to. In talking with
yesterday (She’s such a fantastic Substack coach. If you want help with your own newsletter, I can’t recommend her enough.) I decided that while I do want to make this newsletter a revenue stream for me, I ultimately want to get my thoughts out there. I also want to share two books that I read recently that I thought were fantastic.
The Gutenberg Parenthesis: The Age of Print and Its Lessons for the Age of the Internet by Jeff Jarvis and If You Could Live Anywhere by Melody Warnick.
In Jarvis’ book, he takes a look at the impact the Gutenberg press had on society and the transition we’re making now into a new age. Warnick’s book provides a framework for people who might be thinking about where they want to live in an age where more of us can work from anywhere.
The second set of dates I wanted to flag are all of the Trump trial dates. I’ve got them below, but Axios also has this handy graphic to see when all of these will be and how they fall compared to the various primary election dates.
We also have the date for Meta’s annual Connect conference and the second GOP primary debate!
